About Don Farrell

Don Farrell, the Founder and Chief Cultivator for Fresh Revenues, started his working career as a pot scrubber for Marriott Hotels working his way up through the operational ranks settling on a career in the sales and marketing arena. He then expanded my work in major sales and marketing opportunities through the Holiday Inns Inc and several leading management companies specializing in the hospitality world. Being a true entrepreneur, he started Signature, Inc. in 1986 and was able to help lead that company into the largest and best sales and service training company in the world with 265 employees and licensees training in 45 countries. In 2007, he sold Signature, Inc. to start Fresh Revenues.

  • "After reading PAII's IQ magazine Winter 2009, "Unconventional Ways to Increase Revenue" by Don Farrell, I have to say that just this article has made our PAII membership worthwhile. With a very limited advertising budget, we were so focused on attracting guests from "the rest of the world", even internationally, that we hadn't really done all we could in our local market. The article suggested different businesses to visit locally to promote your B&B, so we took it to heart." - Little Palm Island

"I am especially understanding of how critical the right culture building is to an asset and how it affects maximizing and profit opportunities. It means everything to the success or failure of an operation, especially the smaller one that I specialize in. As a result, Don Farrell is the first person I call when I pick up a new management contract and get his help."

"Don has worked with me for over 13 years to help my hotels maximize revenue producing opportunities through greater service and selling skills training programs. He was the only outside vendor partner we invited into our boardrooms and to speak at our annual meetings because his company's involvement with our revenue growth was that critical to our success.

With Don's guidance we set up minimum acceptable standards and goals, not to mention structured incentive programs for over 800 senior personnel and over 3,000 line staff employees based on what Don's company identified as the skill sets needed to exceed customer expectations and distance ourselves from our competition. I am told by many, that we were able to deliver service and selling skills on a consistent basis like no other company has at such a high level... and to that we have Don and his company to thank. One needing a resource that can help them to maximize their potential and company worth should be talking to Don, or call me for more input."

"I've come across many owners, operators and resources in my 27 years of doing business. I can easily say that Don Farrell and his company are one of the few honest players and are very good at what they do. Don won't take on an assignment because he wants to make money...he takes on clients he feels he will do exceptional work with and, in turn, all will benefit. We need more people like him."

"As senior VP and partner with one of the largest advertising and marketing firms in Florida, I would invest millions of my client's marketing budgets in an effort to generate incremental business. Approximately 20 years ago, I met Don and utilized his firm's unique services in an effort to improve on the close ratio of the business, once the perspective customer contacted my client. We dramatically changed the dynamics by bringing Don into our client's locations to set up a far superior service and sales culture and training programs before we spent a dime on marketing and advertising.

Since then, I have used Don's organization on virtually every one of my clients with overwhelming success. We were able to conclusively track the dramatically improved results that would be reinforced to ensure that we maintained our momentum. With one of my largest clients we generated an incremental $9 million in annual revenues. Any time I get a new client, Don is the first call I make ensuring that when the customer calls my client, the staff has all the necessary skill sets to close the business."

"Don Farrell was a keynote speaker at our 2007 national conference for members of our association. He was, hands down, the most popular speaker out of approximately 100 speakers at the event. His was exceptionally entertaining while delivering absolutely on-target, totally practical, nuts and bolts information that innkeepers put to use immediately for increased ROI back at their inn businesses. Many times keynote addresses target just the strategy; Don addressed both strategy and the tactics. He also presented a couple of subsequent breakout sessions where all the chairs were taken and attendees were even sitting on the floor and standing in every inch that they could. Word travels fast when a speaker is this good! And, of course, we booked him for our 2008 national conference for a repeat performance and for an additional topic.

I have worked with many professional speakers and trainers over the past 30 years, and Don Farrell is one-of-a-kind. I wish we could clone him to present more topics with his energetic style and ability to zero-in on the needs of the audience."

"Don - I was very late getting to the office this morning due to other outside duties and wanted so much to "beat you to the punch" with an e-mail of thanks, but in your usual manner you are first and foremost. Last night's seminar was the best thing we ever had in the 23 year history of Banyan Tree Realty and I really mean that. All the agents commented on that fact. I had made some notes after I got home last night and again this morning to incorporate into a wrap-up and again you beat me. Thanks so much."
